How to Use This Online Mouse Tester

Move your cursor into the test zone and press each button. The matching part of the mouse diagram glows in real time: Left, Right, Middle wheel click, Side Button 4 (Back) and Side Button 5 (Forward). Scroll the wheel to see direction and speed, and move the mouse over the canvas to check smooth tracking and an estimated polling rate.

Double-Click Detector

A healthy switch registers one press per physical click. If two presses of the same button arrive less than 80 ms apart, the tester flags a possible faulty double click, a common sign of a worn microswitch.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to test if my mouse is double clicking?

Click once, slowly, in the test zone. If the Double-Click Check turns red and reports two presses within a few milliseconds, your switch is bouncing and may need cleaning or replacement.

How to check side mouse buttons?

Press the Back and Forward buttons in the test zone. Side Button 4 and Side Button 5 light up when detected. If nothing happens, check your mouse driver or software mapping.

What causes mouse scroll issues?

Dust in the wheel encoder, wear, or driver and smooth-scroll settings. Skipped steps or sudden direction flips while scrolling steadily usually mean a dirty or worn encoder.

What is a mouse polling rate?

It is how often the mouse reports its position, e.g. 125, 500 or 1000 Hz. The browser estimate counts movement events per second and may be capped by your screen refresh rate, so treat it as approximate.

Is this mouse tester free and private?

Yes. It is free, needs no install and runs 100% in your browser.
